Summerland Nakama Drum Ensemble, lead by Bobby Bovenzi, is a well sought after live performing troupe based in the South Okanagan, and has been a recipient of several readers choice awards by Okanagan Life magazine. These performances delight audiences of all ages with precision drumming, high energy dances, harmony singing, amazing drum solos and acrobatics by the kids, as well as fun audience interaction using 30 drums!
Opening for Nankama will be the Bovenzi Family Drum, Dance & Acrobatics featuring Amani 11, Moses 8, Malaika 5 and Bobby’s wife Theresa May.
Bobby has been a student of ethnic percussion and dance since 1994. Since his early university education, Bobby has shared his passion for drumming with thousands of people, from seniors to toddlers, corporate team building to gymnasiums packed with students and teachers.
Bobby’s schedule includes touring as an artist in schools funded by ArtStarts Artist in the Classroom Grants.
