A Man Named Sue plays the songs of Johnny Cash and other Outlaws
BIO
A little background for A Man Named Sue…
Steve Dreger first performed as A Man Named Sue in 2009. Since then, he has been very active performing his favourite collection of songs. Sue has played all over the Pacific Northwest, Alberta, and even Puerto Vallarta at various festivals and in night clubs, at times sharing the stage with other diverse and unique acts.
It’s the timeless and widespread appeal of the songs of Johnny Cash that draws audiences to A Man Named Sue. Cash was one of the best-selling music artists of all time. His music embraced country, rock and roll, rockabilly, blues, folk, and gospel. This crossover appeal and versatility earned him the rare honour of being inducted into three separate Halls of Fame: for Country Music, Rock and Roll, and Gospel Music!
From Dive Bars to Community Celebrations, and from Retirement Homes to Private Parties, A Man Named Sue plays perennial Cash favourites, as well as a couple that may be new to your ears. Sue is a one-man-band with a full sound. His act is about 70% Cash, and is rounded out with Willie, Waylon, Merle tunes – plus a little rock and roll at the end – all delivered with high energy, a splash of cheeky humor, steel string guitar and a booming voice.
